Video: Shearing sheet metal precisely at Hahnel Bros. Co. Sheets and plates are cut to size on our 1/4" thick by 120" long capacity Power Shear. The material is positioned manually or against a mechanical back guage prior to the cut. The Hold Down Dogs drop just before the stroke of the upper knife to hold the sheet in position and the material is then sheared between two knives just like paper under scissors.
