Video: Plate Rolls - Handling sheet metal at Hahnel Brothers Co., Lewiston, ME   Sheets and plates are rolled using a set of pinch rolls. The six foot wide 8" diameter hydraulic rolls shown receive the 3/16" thick aluminum plate through the two front drive rolls which feed the plate to the rear hydraulic pinch roll that causes the plate to be deformed as it moves through the machine. The position of the rear pinch roll creates the radius of the  arch of the deformed plate. The plate grab clamp suspended from the overhead crane safely positions the plate during the process.
